Hennessey is out ridin around the country again for the winter. Seriously the most fun dude to ride with ever! There is a pic of Erik Holladay, another FBM dude, shreddin the tree that is equally sick, but something about seeing Henny do shit just makes me happy. We went to the Agenda trade show and checked out goodies for the shop, lots of new stuff coming in March for DG!!!!!

Sam Jones is up at college in Keene NH, after a cool winter break it is back to the books!! Here is his take on it.... "Got back to school last week and there was a good 6 inches of snow on the ground. i was supposed to go to rye airfield to ride with some friends up here this past Saturday but it snowed about another 4 inches when we were planning on going,which stopped us.so I've been trapped inside doing absolutely nothing for the past week..yeah new hampshire!!.be home in a few weeks to ride and chill hopefully!!!"

Sam is an awesome friend and super guy to ride with. Always reppin the shop which is awesome for me to see. Pysched to hang anytime.

From frank: "Last Thursday Me, Miller Joe, Lizard Wizard, and Nick went to Rad and had a blast! Nick and Wizard were blasting the box jump and killing it like usual! I pulled my first lucky stall at somewhere other than Dayville, and i was PUMPED! Towards the end of the night us 3 bikers played a game of BIKE and of coarse i was the first one out but it was fun! Thankfully Joe got a Grind he was trying all night right before we left! Joe forgot to send me the pics of himself, go figure!"

What a better start off a month long trip North Carolina then with 3 inches of snow last night! Had to drive in the snow covered roads super early this morning to catch my flight at 7:15. This was my first time on a plane and im not gonna lie. I can't wait for my next one, I'm hooked on it now. It was one of the coolest feelings ever! As soon as I landed in Raleigh, I was greeted by Mark "the Nube" and Heidi. Everyone who knows me knows what my favorite thing about NC is, so I proceeded to make my first stop, literally minutes after getting picked up, at the one and only BOJANGLES! Words can't describe how happy I am to be eating at Dan's favorite food establishment and in this warm weather. However, When i got to the house Mark was like "hey check this out" and it turns out his transmission is all screwed up and making tons of weird sounds. So me and mark will be traveling by busses till we figure out his car situation. To all my friends up in CT! I'll see you soon!

Took another trip out to Ohio to Rays Mtn bike park. What can I say, it is the best place to ride. It is endless fun, well at least until you can't pump your legs over jumps because they feel like jello. Either way, we will be making another trip in Feb. This time around I took Sam Jones, Little Chris, and of course Dan. I don't think i could road trip without him, and def. not to Rays without Dan, I think this was our 5th trip.

The drive was horrible, rain turned to snow and it stayed that way for 3/4's of the drive.

Rest stop to get gas(6 times) Snow and salt filled bikes but it was having any effect on out excitement to ride!!!

This was the same smile on Chris' face for like the entire time inside Rays, even in mid flight. Good times.

Dan was getting some air, even doin some stunts, pumped on these t-downs!

I was so tired from driven in a blizzard, but I blasted this wall ride which was weird to get to from the other side. I refuse to cheat and pedal in a skatepark, pump those ramps kids.

Sam Jones was killing it, lots of stuff join down and he didn't even hang out in the grind box room for the hole time!!!!

Final stop on the way home ( well one of em) The fireworks /ninja store!!!! Had to stop and take this pic for Henny. I know he loves this place!!!!

Raleigh update from mark T!!!

Mark has been in Raliegh shreddin the park everyday. He has been gettin a bunch of sweet photos. Here's what he had to say: "Today's session started at 11 with like me and five other older dudes then by 1 it was like 20 guys skating. It was so sick, saw frontside and backside inverts and airs. Dudes were so sick they invited me to their place Tuesday night to skate their ramps. I guess they got like a bowl with a clam shell pocket in it and a smaller mini ramp."

Wow, it has been a super busy 2012!! I have been in California for the past few days and as usual, it's amazing. Met up with Jeff Blaymen today at the Agenda trade show, we went to the Berrics tonight, met a bunch of awesome people today, but had a blast hangin with Jeff for the night.

Anehiem one supercross opener 2moro, watch it live on speed chanel, it's going to be so sick!!!
New site coming in february, lots of new shop stuff going on as soon as I am back to get it all going??

Had everyone over the shop for a little xmas style gathering. made a bunch of tacos, homemade Mom dukes cookies, and yankee swap gift giving. It was a darn good time. We also watched the doc. about DG Foisy made for school. Super rad. Great having everyone together again.

Got a Sparkys order in today(New Shadow/Subrosa/ect). This was the box the product came in, Sparkys is just outside of Casselberry fl. Everyone asks me why I talk about this place so much. How good of friends are you with those guys? How long have you known them? Well, I'll tell you. I went there for the first time 4 years ago. Henny and Dan were down there and Eric called me and was like "Chuck, you have to come down here, these guys are awesome, you'll love it." (Eric knows how much I love BMX) So i flew down. Instantly I was welcomed by everyone who all had no idea who i was or what I do. Just a friendly bunch. Since then I try and go twice a year and take the shop trip there every year. Always welcomed with an open invite, these guys just rule. I feel like they are some of the most genuin people i have EVER met. I'm not sure what they really think of me, a guy ten years older then most of them who isn't anywhere near good bmx rider, but I think they are like me, and don't give a shit what you can or can't do on a bike as long as your having fun. They just happen to all be bad ass riders. In this past 4 years some of the most memorable and fun times in my BMX life, have been with these guys in Casselberry. Part of the reason i love it there is as simple as getting a box from the area, complete with a note reminding me of how awesome those guys are everyday. We should all strive to be nice and open to helping each other out and just hanging out and having a simple fun good time together more often, take a page out of the Casselberry book. Dan is leaving to go there for winter in a few days. I am beyond jealous. Feb. is too far away. Thanks for the box billy, it made my day!!!

Josh Foisey came down from Bostonia to hang for the day. We hung at the shop for a bit and then headed over to Dayville park for an afternoon of fun. Miller Joe, Chris Deieieielololololo, Frankfurter, Kasak, Nicky P, and I were all fooling around all day doing dumb shit that needs to happen more often. Ben, Adam, Josh, Dan and I headed out to Ohio to rays Mtn. bike park this past weekend. We rode for just about 8 hours non-stop. I couldn't even pedal anymore I was so exhausted. Place is the most fun ever. I am working a short vid of the little bit we taped while there, but it was tooo much fun to sit back and tape stuff.

Best X-up I have done in a long time!!! Look Eric, my legs aren't even bowed!!!!

Adam rented this Jump bike, he was into it, gettin stylish and jumpin stuff after non ridin a bike in some time.

Dan with some serious moto-style, he was flying all over the place and sit down wheelies were a poppin!! More on this trip soon!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Normally that means have a fun day off with family and friends eating good home cooked meals and I think for most people football is somehow involved. It seems more and more it is getting away from that and more about leaving your friends and family behind to be the first one in line to get a few bucks offf a new box of technology. Total Bullshit... What the F has happened to everyone?? I am happy to say that I will be riding with all my friends early in the am, and then spending the afternoon and evening with my family at MOM dukes house. Pretty psyched. I'm a fan of everyone doing whatever they want, but it seems stupid to put off being with people you care about so that big box stores can suck you into saving a few pennies on some gizmo to gift to those people you left behind on Thanksgiving.

Black Friday we are open at normal time, 10ish am. I have some good deals going just for Friday, I'll post the sale stuff Tomorrow night, mention it and get the deal.

THE ROAD TRIP.

Here's the deal.... There is never going to be a time when I don't want to be with these guys.... The past week was fun as shit. Maybe not the most epic trip ever, but i keep looking at all the pictures and remembering the ball breaking and the laughter and all the friends we saw and made along the way. I honestly can't thank the guys who went with me on this trip enough, This shop, this place that I love so much, it would not be what it is without these guys in the photos above. So thanks again fellas for another amazing trip, ten days that came and went like it crammed into a weekend. When i think of this trip and all that it was and that it is now in the history books and can never again be repeated I have to remind myself, Oh yeah, we are all going again next year!!! Fuck YEAH!!!

2011 ROADTRIP DAY 4 AND 5

Day 4 we went back to KONA and then food and party time at the house. Day 5 was ramp sesh in the am followed by the springs and then Bayridge sushi, a quick run through the trails for a bit, brought Chris to the airport and then went to OSP for a bit to ride. Today we hit up the Datona skate plaza, it was super fun, nice and hot, and everyone had a blast!!!

After Datona we went to Steak and Shake, then to pick up our road tripper left behind who Casselberry claimed the night before. (Dan Danger) We went to OSP skatepark with AAron and Joey from the house, as well as Trey Jones, Shotgun Billy, and a bunch of other rippers, no pics though, too much fun!!! After OSP we went to see Eric Pains Jam sesh, that was amazing and now it is off to the house and the DG tent city in the front yard, more tomorrow!!!!

After leavin my sis' house, we took off towards Norfolk for the FBM premiere. Went over the Chesapeek Bay Bridge, stopped at a local park for a bit, and then raged out till 3 am at the Belmont!!! Slept in a random parking lot outside.... Day 2 we got up and slowly drove all the way to FLA, stopped in at Kona, got rained(misted) out and left for some MOes and two more hours to Casselberry, hangin with the best people in BMX at 71N now.... I got the Burb a little early and we left Fri night at about 7. Drove to Baltimore and occupied my sisters house at 1:30 in the am, there was a pizza in the fridge and plenty of drinks, a huge couch and comphy floor!! Super psyched that we are already in Baltimore and it is 7am!!!! more tonight hopefully... FBM PREMIERE!!!!!!!!!

Looks like all the T's have been crossed and we are dotting the last of the I's. It's time again for the annual DG trip. This time round it's Myself, Nick, Dan,Jordan,Justin, Marc and we added little Shaun White and we are pretty sure Frank is still going. We are headed off to good ol FLORIDA once again to hang with the nicest dudes in BMX. I couldn't be more pumped!!
The shop will be CLOSED from Sat the 5th till Monday the 13th.
I have some Family and friends stopping in each day to get Leo some food so if anyone needs anything please call me and I can arrange to have them meet you at a certain time.I should be able to be reached at 860-942-4444. If you have to, call me and i'll have someone open up the shop for you while we are away.

DK pulled out of all mail order companies earlier this year so they could focus on independent bike shops and better suit their dealers.... and they picked up one major bike shop that I am sure is the only one they were talking about when they said focus on out independent retailers.... muther f*ckers, I hope you like your halfway decent Walmart bike put together by either a 15 year old know nothing "bike mechanic". I guess that what happens when you only look for the all mighty $, I wonder if the suit running DK is a fat bald guy?? When I was ten, I loved my Bicycle. I had the broken piece of wood on a block jump over the curb into the grass that we jumped all day long and was pumped!!
At 14 or 15 I remember 360in doubles we dug in the Plainfield pits and high fivin everyone after, pumped!! When I was 30 I did an under bar height handrail in Albany and was stoked for days. last week at 35 I did a 540 tailtap and I am still smilin over it.
This trick list may be no big deal to the average rider, I'm psyched on it and if you were there and you were psyched on it then you understand me and who I am. I love my bike, i live for those moments and those memories. I have met more people and have the best friends anyone could ask for because of this little kids bmx bike. If you see me smiling in five years from now it'll prob be because I cleared a curb off a broken piece of wood on a block into the grass, I'll high five you and I'll be pumped for days, I love my Bicycle.

Super easy to get to from this area just head up the highway to exit 2 get on rt.16 till you get to the park. haha. The layout is super fun and it is cheaper than most parks in our area, plus the vibe there is welcoming and super awesome. Bob over at rad was super pumped to help Jordo with the contest. Rad will be onhand showing their support and are throwing in a bunch of park vouchers for some of the prizes, super sweeeet!!! If you wanna check em out, myself and the DG crew are headed there this Friday night to shred and hang, also anyone with a Dg shirt gets a special somethin at the park, hint: it's triangular and has cheese on it.... I believe we have sold almost 10 Native frames out of this store and even more bars!!! This is a true to every meaning of BMX as a company gets. These guys live it. Jordan, Mark, Chris and I took a ride to Willi to meet up with Poprocki and his concrete crew. The park is coming along and looks like it should be one of the best parks in our area. What can I say about Jordan?? Without this kid the shop wouldn't be the same. He forever rocks the DG to the fullest but beyond that, he is the nicest kid you can meet and one of the best friends I could ask for. Jordan is going to hold this contest next month at our park and I am in full support of it all the way!! It is going to be the raddest of times, one big bash before winter hits and we are forced inside. Everyone should come to this. Everyone should support this. Jordan is always ready to help out anyone with anything at anytime, it's time you return the favor and show some support. Get to this contest and have some fun with us.

This past Sunday, DG sponsored a fundraiser for the Sterling town skatepark. the event was put on by a customer and friend I went to school with who lives in Sterling and has three or four crazy kids who all skate and ride. Nicest people you could meet and they did a great job and had one awesome event. We were there to help with the best trick contest and also to MC and do a little skate demo and we raised $150 bucks from donations from local kids..... Not too bad.

Jordan and Justin went up to Nashua today for a skate comp at a new indoor park that is super sick!!!! Jordan killed it taking the number one position over Justin who came in number 2!!! First place and first loser for 2 kids havin fun skateboardin, always reppin the DG and Worship skateboards!!!! Pretty f'in sick!!!

In related skate news, Mark took a nap instead of goin to the comp with his friends cause he forgot how to ollie and is lost unless there is tranny everywhere....

Dayville park is always full of local shredders, this pick is really sick cause this guy is usually doin a bunch of techy grind type stuff with four pegs, like nolly to hangover tooth on the box, or some spin to grind shit. but he also can blast out into old school tables. I got psyched when i saw this, not that it means anything but I'm impressed with Anthony McDougal, plus he has really nice wheels....

Who the hell ever came up with the scoring system in some sports??? Who decided a touchdown is worth 6 points? Why 6? why not 5? It's way easier to add and keep track of. The US OPEN of tennis is on every local channel cause it is going on live right now in CT. Who decided how to score this game? Why isn't it like volleyball? Volleyball is easy, all this up 5 7 in the second set and now up 2 luv, what the fuck is 2 luv?? If you haven't followed tennis your whole life you'll never understand what 2 sets to luv down means, and screw trying to play with your buddy for fun and scoring the game correctly, not going to happen. Scoring sports is just rediculous, don't even ask how they score surfing???? I mean, i'm pretty sure the wave gets points.... This is why BMX contests are easy to score, count the tailwhips plus the flairs add the barspins and the highest number wins. All of it is just stupid.

It's just about that time of year again, last year in Oct. I built 37 custom wheels, CRAZY. Who knows how this year will be but if you want a new wheel or maybe some new colors in your old wheels, We have spokes and Nips in all colors ready to lace up to your liking.

Want a red/white and blue spoke pattern, not a problem, black and yellow? Done. Want to run the sickest stainless spokes on black hubs and chrome rims or purple and teal on crazy anodized color of the day hubs, whatever it is, we can do it.

brass nips in black and stainless, or colors in alloy nips, lookin cool or running strong, it's your choice and it's all here!! Hit me up, usually one to two days and they will be ready for you.

OK, so the power is back on in D-burg and I couldn't be more BUMMED?? Yeah, I was actually enjoying the quiet, hang out and sit with friends time I was having... Now it's back to busy media engrossed living once again. (here I am posting on the interweb in the first ten minutes of having power, hypocrite, obv) Anyway, all the shop crew was without the awesomeness of electricity for over two days and I thought I would get everyone together last night and use the grill to cook all our food before it goes bad. I had about 15 people over and Josh brought the generator and we pulled out the projection screen and celebrated our loss of power by watching "Me,Myself and Hurricane Irene" outside under moonlight and lawn chairs.... It was so sweeet of a time.

Crandal and Hennessey from FBM stopped by the shop Monday. Crandal was up here to hang with Henny and take some pics, and they stopped in on there way to a few local parks. There is a sweet post on FBM (click here). Make sure you click that shit!!!
For those of you who don't know, FBM is one of the first companies that started making good bikes at a time when the Pennacle Bmx bike just wouldn't cut it. At 35 I have seen alot in BMX, and I think it is sweet when a guy that is responsable for you guys ridin what you have today walks through the doors in this town and is stoked on the local scene. BMX is whatever you want it to be, but buying BMX parts is more than just getting a 35 dollar stem that is anodized in tomorrows hot color and has some new fangled no bolt system to save 1.65 ounces. Buy parts that work from companies that care about you having a good quality part. More on this soon.......

Sam Jones has been an everyday visitor to the shop all summer long. Not since Henny went pro town USA have I personally had a friend to ride with that was this much fun. Sam is always down for anything and has been a huge help here this summer. He will sesh some gnarly shit but also take it to the speed bump for hours... Sam is moving to Keene State college in NH on WED. So today we are having a farewell(for now) sesh with him, feel free to join in, i'm sure it will be fun.... Thanks Sam, for a great summer!!!!

Brian Foster is one of my top five favorite riders, 15 years ago he was one of my top 5 and is still killing it!! I like that some of my fave riders don't ride anymore and they are still my favorite riders and not replaced by some new in your face kid putting out a web video every two days, makes me happy I am still into BMX and that I was into it when it was good. the awesome thing is, BF is still getting it done and his style of riding is what BMX is all about to me, check out these lines in Fits newest web video introducing the new BF stem.... sooooo good. Props to the Challenger stem reference, you younger kids just don't understand.... enjoy.

DG Skatepark Fund worked!!!!

Finally we got somthin done!!! We raised a little over 600 bucks through a jam or two and a Bike we raffled off here at the shop. The shop payed for the bar that went in before the concrete was poured and a few hundred more to cover the rest of paying paprocki concretes' guys to do the finish work. Jeff gave us a super sweeet price, coming in at a few hundred less than expected since we did some of the labor and it was money raised by the kids and out of our own pockets.
Got to the park at 730 am to rip up the old asphalt...
DG rider Nick Prete was onhand to do some labor and keep the job rolling, this is truly an addition that is "ours" as everyone donated a few of their own dollars and the DG guys put in some hard labor to make it happen.
Truck showed up at 1 pm and it was time to pour....
The bump took shape quick and Paprockis crew did what they do best and made it flow nice and smooth.... Also took out the rail everyone wanted out... Thanks goes to anyone who donated to make this park somethin better than it already was.. Paprocki concrete for helping me afford to get it done, and Tom Dooley from park and rec and the Killingly town workers for getting me the OK, and the making it easier then it could have been.... keep it clean, shred it hard, I'm workin on getting the next part done already!!!

This past weekend DG was in full tilt raisin the money for the pump bumb at the skatepark. We will be gettin rid ofthe rail, and the crack in the middle of the prk, adding in a little bump to shred and then at the end of the summer, goin in behind the bowl with a halfpipe. the work on the middle of the park will happen soon though!!!
We need about 500 more bucks to make it happen, this kid donated all his change to the park, every bit helps!!!

Jordan won two out of three events at the Cutting Edge contest at Bristol skatepark last Sunday!!! He took home some sweet goodies and had a good time.
Those guys at Cutting Edge are awesome, it was some 15 year ago or so at their older location that I and a few friends went one, two, three, in a small contest in the the front of their store. it was so much fun and it was what made me want to do the events here that I do. If you are ever out that way, look em up and support the shops that do this kind of shit for you!!!
